What is Aikido?

Aikido is a Japanese martial art, founded in the 20th century.  It is rooted in the idea that resolving a conflict does not mean someone needs to win and someone needs to lose. At Common Bond, we practice Aikido as a healing art, a way to connect more deeply with our bodies and with others. There is no competition, no yelling instructor, no pressure to perform. Just warmth, joy, and a dedication to growth.
